Former Deportivo La Coruna goalkeeper Nuno has declared Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo to be the ultimate footballer
While Real Madrid were triumphant in their La Liga campaign, it was Barcelona's Lionel Messi who took the Pichichi award with 50 goals this season. However, Nuno rates Ronaldo as a better player than the Argentinean because he believes his compatriot contributes more to his team's efforts.
"Messi is a great player, but Cristiano is absolutely tremendous. He is the best in the world because he's the most complete player, he is fast, powerful, scores goals, has so much quality and always helps his team out defensively if needed," he said to AS.
"He is the perfect 10. I have never seen such a perfect football machine."
The former custodian considers Ronaldo to be better than the likes of Pele, Alfredo Di Stefano and Diego Maradona.
"Football has changed a lot, and I doubt that players such as Pele, Di Stefano and Maradona could do what Cristiano does now with that intensity," Nuno stated.
Ronaldo finished second in the Pichichi challenge with 46 goals.
