Park Chu-young intends to make the most of any "random chances" which might come his way for Arsenal in 2012.
The South Korea captain, 26, has only made four appearances since his summer transfer deadline switch from Monaco, scoring a well-taken goal against Bolton in the Carling Cup on October 25, but not yet playing in the Barclays Premier League.
That, though, could all change come January, when both Ivory Coast forward Gervinho and Morocco striker Marouane Chamakh are away at the African Nations Cup.
Park maintains he is now ready to take whatever opportunities present themselves in the coming weeks.
"All my team-mates are great players. I do not expect a chance for me because a player is unavailable," Park told Arsenal Player.
"I will do my best to prepare myself to take any random chances at any time."
Park added: "I am new to this club and to the Premier League. I am trying hard to learn more and more.
"I don't worry about getting used to everything or anything. My team-mates are nice to me and I do not have any problems at all regarding training."
The Gunners head to leaders Manchester City on Sunday following a seventh win in the last eight league games.
However, it needed another moment of genius from in-form captain Robin van Persie to secure victory over a stubborn Everton side at Emirates Stadium.
Manager Arsene Wenger accepts his side have become somewhat reliant on the Dutchman, who has chalked up 19 for the season and is fast closing in on a new Premier League record for the calendar year.
Midfielder Mikel Arteta feels the whole squad need to help lift the burden on their captain.
"Sometimes we get space to move into when the forward players have attracted defenders to them, and we need to stay aware of that," he said.
"We have players to score from that range."
Wenger again looks set to have to play four central defenders along the backline at Etihad Stadium because of injury to all four recognised full-backs.
Thomas Vermaelen moved out to the left against Everton, as Laurent Koscielny partnered Per Mertesacker in the middle, with Swiss international Johan Djourou filling in at right-back.
Koscielny, 26, has grown in stature following what was a testing first season after his move from Lorient.
The 26-year-old has recently won his first full senior France cap, and hopes a successful campaign with the Gunners could lead to a place in Laurent Blanc's Euro 2012 squad.
"The season is so long so if I do the job well with my club, defend well and are strong I will go to the national team," he said on Arsenal Player.
"I have to give everything on the pitch to go with France next year."
